Long Island Science Congress is an adjudicated exhibit of science projects by students of Nassau County and Suffolk County middle schools, junior high schools and senior high schools, sponsored by the Long Island Sections of the Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS).  LISC began in 1950 under the auspices of  the New York State Science Teachers Association and The Nassau Daily Review-Star.  Since its inception, there have been over 85 committee members consisting of teachers, professors, and doctors.   The 2016 LISC Executive Committee would like to welcome and encourage each school to participate during this memorable year.

Registration from 7:45 to 8:30 AM.
Judging from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

    Robert Nelson was the coordinator of the Long Island Science Congress for over 40 years.
    He dedicated countless hours to the development of the congress as a location for young researchers to share their findings.
    Awards will be given this year in Robert Nelson’s name for students in the Senior Division Congress who conducted their research independent of universities and research institutions.
    1. The liaison from each school may choose one project per grade level to apply for the Robert Nelson Award.
    2. If a project is mixed grade levels, the oldest grade level will apply.
    3. The student’s research teacher/advisor must complete the bottom portion of each application from that school to certify that the information the student(s) provided is true and accurate.
    4. All completed applications must be mailed by Thursday, March 31, 2016 to:
